A comprehensive illustrated reference manual covering every module, every metric, and every model in the Operational Excellence Command Centre — complete with annotated application screenshots for IT leaders, executives, and practitioners.

The Operational Excellence Command Centre (OECC) is an interactive, research-backed platform that helps IT leaders build a complete AI business case — from financial modelling to live operations simulation. Designed for a 1,000-FTE IT organization in a Canadian Financial Institution, every number is adjustable.
Think of it as three things in one: a financial model (what will AI save us?), a strategic roadmap (how do we get there in 36 months?), and a live operations simulator (what does AI-first ops look like in practice?).
Every metric is anchored to peer-reviewed research from McKinsey, Gartner, Stanford, MIT, Harvard Business School, Google SRE, DORA Research, Gallup, and the WHO. Nothing is made up. Everything is citeable.
Mission Control is the first screen you see when the platform loads. It is your cockpit view — a single screen that summarizes the entire 5-Tier AI ROI framework at a glance. Four headline KPI cards show the key financial metrics, five tier cards break down where every dollar comes from, Research Confidence Anchors give you the academic backing, and the Year-by-Year Accumulation shows how savings compound over 3 years.
Figure 1.1 — Mission Control: 4 KPI cards, 5-Tier framework, Research Confidence Anchors, and Year-by-Year savings accumulation
The 5-Tier Dividend tab is your financial proof engine. It shows the full $90.6M broken into five distinct value tiers, with a scenario selector that lets you toggle between Conservative (10% productivity gain), Base (12.5%), and Enthusiastic (15%) projections. A productivity gain slider recalculates everything in real time. This is where you show stakeholders that the ROI is not a single assumption — it is a range with academic backing for every tier.
Figure 2.1 — 5-Tier Dividend: scenario selector, productivity slider, and the full tier-by-tier financial breakdown
The most powerful tab in the platform. Unlike Mission Control and the 5-Tier Dividend which use preset 1,000-FTE assumptions, the Live ROI Calculator lets you input your organization's actual numbers. Every slider and input field triggers an instant recalculation. The Bell Curve Toggle is the platform's most important feature — it switches between a naive flat-rate productivity assumption and the research-backed bell curve model where AI lifts bottom performers 35%, mid-performers 14%, and high performers only 4%.

The ITIL 4 × AI tab maps the global IT Service Management framework against specific AI applications in each practice domain. For practitioners who live in ITIL daily, this tab shows exactly where AI accelerates their work — with specific use cases, quantified time savings, MTTR improvements, and research citations from Gartner, Forrester, AXELOS, and HDI. Click any domain card to expand its full AI use case breakdown.

The 36-Month Roadmap tab is your programme governance document. It divides the AI transformation journey into three distinct phases — Foundation, Scale, and Autonomous — each with specific deliverables, milestones, KPI targets, and cumulative financial value. The journey timeline bar at the top provides an at-a-glance progress indicator from Day 1 through Year 3.

The OECC tab is your real-time mission control room. It simulates what your operations floor looks like when AI agents are working alongside your human team — monitoring service health, correlating incidents, blocking risky changes, and logging every autonomous action in real time. The rolling terminal log and live cost counter are designed to be projected in town halls and leadership briefings to make the concept of autonomous operations viscerally real.

The SRE Observatory is your reliability command centre. Built for Site Reliability Engineering practitioners and leaders, it tracks the DORA metrics (the global gold standard for DevOps performance), SLO achievement, error budget consumption, P95 latency, and the before-vs-after AI comparison for SRE time allocation. If you've read 'The DevOps Handbook' or Google's SRE book, this tab will feel like home.

The AI Agents tab introduces the 8 autonomous agents that form the backbone of AI-first IT operations. Each agent has a specific domain, a defined set of capabilities, live performance metrics, and a recent action log. Think of this as your digital workforce directory — 8 tireless team members working 24×7 who never get paged at 3am, never burn out, and get better every day.

For IT leaders in banking, insurance, healthcare, or any regulated industry, the Governance tab is non-negotiable. It maps your entire AI programme against the regulatory frameworks that matter: OSFI B-10 (Canadian financial institutions), SOX ITGC, PCI-DSS 4.0, ISO 27001, and NIST AI RMF. It shows your current compliance maturity per domain and the evidence your AI programme generates automatically for auditors.

FinOps (Financial Operations) brings financial accountability to cloud spending. The FinOps tab uses AI to identify cloud waste, optimize license usage, and right-size infrastructure — with specific dollar amounts attached to every opportunity. For most organizations, AI-driven FinOps pays for the entire AI programme within 12 months from cloud waste recovery alone.

The ROI Calculator is a 4-step sequential workflow. Follow this exact sequence to build a fully defensible, board-ready business case from your organization's actual numbers. Every step is illustrated below with the exact interface you'll see, annotated with what to enter and why it matters.
Start with your internal FTE headcount and blended annual salary. This establishes the total internal labour cost — the single most important input in the entire model. Add your offshore team size and blended rate separately, as the Bell Curve applies differently to each population.
Figure 11.1 — ROI Calculator Step 1: enter headcount, salary, and offshore inputs; live labour cost preview updates instantly
Input your annual Big 4 / MSP advisory spend, SaaS licensing costs, and total cloud infrastructure spend. These are critical because AI directly reduces your dependency on all four cost categories — advisory through internal capability growth, cloud through right-sizing, licenses through consolidation.

The Bell Curve toggle is the most scientifically important feature in the platform. Enable it to apply the Stanford/MIT/Harvard research-backed performance distribution: bottom 20% gain 35%, middle 60% gain 14%, top 20% gain 4%. Adjust sliders to match your team's actual performance profile.

The Results panel synthesizes all your inputs into a complete, personalized business case. Tier-by-tier savings, year-by-year waterfall chart, 3-year cumulative total, net ROI multiple, and payback period.

The Philosophy tab articulates the intellectual backbone of the OE Command Centre — the beliefs, contrasts, and principles that define what separates average IT operations from great AI-first operations. It is equal parts manifesto and mirror: it shows where your organization is today and where AI-first culture takes you.

The most underestimated tab in the platform. The Human Dividend quantifies — in dollars — the cost of engineer burnout, alert fatigue, on-call anxiety, attrition, and tribal knowledge loss. Using Gallup 2026, WHO, Spring Health, and MIT research, it puts hard numbers on soft outcomes.

The ITOM & Infrastructure tab gives your infrastructure engineers the operational intelligence layer they've always needed. Real-time capacity utilization, AI-mapped service topology, and an Auto-Remediation Log showing every autonomous action taken in the last 24 hours — all without a human being paged.
Figure 14.1 — ITOM & Infrastructure: 4 KPI cards, AI-mapped service topology, capacity utilization bars, 24-hour auto-remediation log
The Maturity Assessment gives your organization an honest, scored baseline across 8 operational domains — and a clear path to Level 5 Autonomous Operations. It generates a personalized list of the top 3 priority improvements that will move your overall score the most in the shortest time.

The Leadership Profile tab documents the human behind the platform — 20 years of IT operations experience from Cognizant to TCS to TD Bank to RBC, eight Best Team Awards, six live AI applications deployed in production, and a 200-person, $151M-budget Director role as the platform's origin context.
